In 1976, at the age of twelve, Shashika Mooruth was invited on stage to sing by the legendary Kishore Kumar at Durban City Hall—an unforgettable moment that ignited a lifelong passion for music. Fifty years later, Shashika Mooruth celebrates that treasured memory with a nostalgic musical experience at the iZulu Theatre, Sibaya.

Kishore Kumar was far more than one of India's greatest playback singers. He was an extraordinary actor, comedian, storyteller, composer, filmmaker and entertainer whose larger-than-life personality captivated audiences for decades. Inspired by his remarkable versatility, Shashika aims to present not just the voice of Kishore Kumar, but the many dimensions of the man himself. Through music, humour, acting and engaging storytelling, she brings to life the magic, spontaneity and charm that made him one of Indian cinema's most beloved legends, while showcasing her own versatility as a performer in a heartfelt tribute to the artist who inspired her journey.
